At just sixteen two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Champion Gabrielle Douglas releases her autobiography titled:

The inspirational book, co-written by Michelle Burford, a founding editor of O, Oprah Winfrey’s magazine was released December 4, 2012 and is available NOW!!

The book tells the story of the U.S gymnast and details Gabby’s upbringing and journey towards her triumph back in August at the London 2012 summer Olympics.

Douglas made history as the first African-American woman to win the all-around Gold Medal, taking home a team and individual Gold Medal in the same games.

Born and raised in Virginia, at the age of six Douglas began training and two years later became the Virginia State Champion.

Gabby makes it clear that her mum Natalie Hawkins is the driving force behind her brilliance…

At fourteen she left her family in Virginia Beach to train with coach Liang Chow which later lead to her competing in the 2012 Olympic games where she claimed her victory!

Grace, Gold & Glory offers a firsthand look into the intense training and sacrifice required of this elite athlete and uncovers personal truths for Douglas.

Such as the bullying and racism she endured as an African-American gymnast, her heartache, isolation and homesickness, as well as multiple injuries – all of which led Douglas to consider leaving gymnastics forever only seven months before the London Olympics.

Douglas opens up for the first time about her father’s role in her life and her memoir takes us on an historical journey referencing the numerous prayers, meditations and Bible verses that helped her stay strong along the way.

The book reveals the ups and the downs… the struggles and the sacrifices and tells her story of faith, perseverance and determination, demonstrating you can reach your dreams if you let yourself soar.

Douglas states “Even before I competed in the Olympics, I always wanted to write a book”.

“Of course, there’ll be a lot of stories about gymnastics, but the book will also be about how much my family and I have overcome during our journey. It hasn’t been easy. I want people to read my story and say, ‘If Gabby can do it, I can do it, too. Anything is possible.”

Since Gabby’s win, she has personally met President Barack Obama, Michelle Obama and Oprah… a number of celebrities and even landed a cameo on her all-time favorite TV series, ‘Vampire Diaries’ as well as appearing on the VMA’s.

Douglas states “With strong faith in God and some serious determination, every dream is possible,”

“I hope this book inspires others to go for their biggest dreams.”

Gabrielle Douglas uses her winning platform to inspire millions with a powerful message:

With hard work and persistence, any dream is possible.
