BLACK GIRLS ROCK! 2013 is taking place November 3rd at 7pm EST on BET, hosted by actresses Tracee Ellis Ross and Regina King.

BLACK GIRLS ROCK! is a non-profit organization that has been dedicated to the healthy development of young women and girls since 2006. The organization seeks to build self-esteem, self-worth and empowerment of young women of color by changing their outlook on life and broadening their horizons. 

Beverly Bond, Founder and CEO of BLACK GIRLS ROCK! will work in partnership with BET Networks to bring yet another annual inspirational award show. The two-hour show will tape on Saturday October 26 at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) before airing on BET November 3rd.

Patti Labelle, Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Rowland, Ledisi, Janelle Monáe and Alice Smith are among the performers that will be rocking the stage at BLACK GIRLS ROCK!… Get ready to experience a unique take on art, music and expression dedicated to promoting positive images of women of color!

Presenters for the night include actresses Nia Long, Tatyana Ali and La La Antnony, Recording Artist Marsha Ambrosius, Broadcast Journalist Soledad O’ Brien, Mariah Carey and BLACK GIRLS ROCK! founder Beverly Bond.

“Each of the women, whom we are celebrating this year, epitomize the champion’s spirit as applicable to their respective fields. They are anchored by a fierce commitment to their craft or cause; they have shown the ability to navigate multiple sectors and industries successfully; and they are conscious about the role they play in enriching our society and culture. They absolutely Rock!,” said Founder, Beverly Bond.

BLACK GIRLS ROCK! 2013 will air on Tuesday, November 5th at 8:00PM GMT on BET’s international network in the UK and Africa, reaching more than 17 million households in 50+ countries.
