19th Annual MOBO Awards 2014

 

The MOBO Awards 2014 returns to London after five years absence to celebrate its 19th annual ceremony at The SSE Arena, Wembley on Wednesday 22 October, 2014!

The MOBO Awards show hosts are X Factor Judge and former Spice Girl Mel B and last years co-host, BBC Radio 1Xtra presenter Sarah-Jane Crawford. 

Entrepreneur, Founder and CEO, Kanya King is behind the MOBO Awards brand which launched back in 1996 creating a platform that recognizes, motivates and inspires talent on an international scale.

Supported by HTC and 1Xtra, The MOBO Awards will showcase musical talent and performances from artists in the urban scene. Nominees have recently been announced and voting is now open: MOBO.com/Voting

This year sees the launching of the first MOBO Inspiration Award which is to be given to an individual who has achieved formidable success in his/her respective field against all odds and as such shines as an inspirational figurehead.

The MOBO INSPIRATION AWARD 2014 goes to: IDRIS ELBA

Award-winning British actor, producer and singer, Idris Elba has starred in several series like The Wire and The Office and films such as Obsessed, Takers and Daddy’s Little Girls to name a few.

Known in the Television, Film and Music Industries, Idris is determined to help and inspire the next generation of talents to succeed while bringing new and different talent to the UK industry.

 

IDRIS ELBA PRESENTS… ‘MI MANDELA’


Idris recently attended the MOBO Awards Nominations Launch and is soon to release an inspired album titled ‘Mi Mandela’ about his experience of South Africa and playing Nelson Mandela in the movie Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom
